About Atoka, TN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Atoka is a growing town positioned in Tipton County, Tennessee. According to the United States Census Bureau, Atoka was home to almost 10,000 people in 2016. Since 2006, Atoka has almost doubled in size. The town is located about 30 miles north of Memphis, Tennessee and is part of the Memphis Metropolitan Area.

In 1872, Atoka was founded. The newly constructed tracks of the Memphis & Paducah Railroad provided an ideal location for a townsite. Founders of the town chose the Indian word Atoka as the town name because it means “ball ground.” After its establishment, Atoka became a shipping point for lumber and cotton. This contributed to the quick growth of Atoka and by the late 1870s, Atoka was home to around 500 people. Today, Atoka continues to be a fast-growing town. Many individuals are attracted to the Memphis suburb because of the wonderful quality of life that is provided to all residents. In 2010, Bloomberg Business Week magazine ranked Atoka as Best Affordable Suburb in Tennessee. Also, Atoka is home to several attractions and amenities including parks, shopping centers, and beautiful neighborhoods.

Atoka is located in a climate that experiences four distinct seasons. Temperatures vary greatly each season so residents find it necessary to have heating and cooling systems installed in their homes. Throughout the winter months, daytime temperatures vary from the low to mid-40s on average. At night, temperatures will dip well below freezing. Heating systems such as heat pumps help residents stay warm and comfortable inside their homes. When the summer season is present in Atoka, daytime temperatures will reach the low-90s. If a heat wave passes through the town, it is not uncommon for temperatures to rise to the low-100s. Residents have found that by hiring HVAC technicians to install heating and cooling units, they protect their homes from potential damages caused by extreme temperatures.
